Berries:
1 quart fresh strawberries
1 pint fresh blueberries
sugar
Shortcake:
1/3 c. shortening/butter
2 cups flour
3 T. sugar
3 t. baking powder
1 t. salt
3/4 c. milk
Mix berries and sugar and let stand in fridge for 1 hour so berries become juicy. Preheat oven to 400.
Mix dry ingredients together. Cut butter into dry mixture until it looks like fine crumbs. Add milk and stir until just blended. Drop dough in six mounds on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 12-14 minutes or until golden brown.
Serve shortcakes with berries and whipped cream. Mmmm.

ReplyDeleteOh and I made the corn and black bean salsa. I was great love the dressing. I wonder if it would be good on other salsa maybe on fruit salsa? Gina
